3 x 3 CRUYFF COURTS

Where: Amsterdam, Tilburg, Apeldoorn, Weesp
What: a series of four 3 x 3 basketball courts, celebrating Johan Cruyffs legacy and the Dutch 3 x 3 basketball golden Olympic medal.  

The 3x3 Cruyff Courts are yet another collaboration between the Johan Cruyff Foundation and DreamCourts.
For these installations we teamed up to implement the Legacy and Philosophy of Johan Cruyff into the rapidly emerging sport of 3 on 3 basketball. We painted 4 courts throughout the Netherlands; Tilburg, Weesp, Apeldoorn and Amsterdam-Noord. With each court depicting a portrait of Johan with his famous number 14 in alternating typography and colorschemes, we wanted to reference a ‘Warhol-like’ series.
In doing this series we want to ensure Johan Cruyff continues to bring artistry onto sports courts everywhere.
