LORD OF THE SEAS
Where: Quelderduijnpark, Den Helder
What: Full size basketballcourt
When: 2024
The design is a bold and bright depiction of the Lord of the Seas, Poseidon or Neptune. A reference to the city of Den Helder, which is strattled by both the North sea in the west and the Wadden sea in the east.
Here we see Poseidon yeilding his mighty trident to fend off his opponents as he is holding a basketball in his other hand. Ready to overcome whatever adversities he might face in his quest for Marine domination.
We had tremendous fun with this project that challenged our creativity and technical abilities with a massive amount of detail and compositional tension. Luckily, we had plenty of help from yet another great bunch of enthusiastic, local youths who surely displayed some artistic promise.
