This pilot DreamCourts project set the bar high. The Den Haag Spoorcourt is an outdoor basktball court that is frequently used on a semi-pro level. Being in a solid state and played on by some of The Hague and The Netherlands’ top tier ballers, we knew we had to win a fair amount of minds and hearts before putting paint and brushes on this beautiful court.
Thanks to ST4R Basketball and the City of The Hague, we set out a strategy to inform and involve the local community in the project. They provided us with design feedback while we pioneered paint testing and overcame practical obstacles.
Workshops were attended frantically and we eventually had to close applications due to an overwhelming turnout.
Finally, we weathered heavy rain and blazing sunshine to finish this DreamCourt in little over three weeks.
